A Testimony of Watchman Nee, Witness Lee and the Local ChurchesMy first experience of meeting the local churches in the United States was through the ministry of Watchman Nee. Watchman Nee's writing made the Bible and the Lord Himself real to me. By reading the Normal Christian Life I came to know that I no longer needed to live the Christian life by my own endeavor. This really changed my life! I then came in contact with a local church in Poland and saw a group of people who were living by Christ and displayed what I had read about and found out that the Word of God spoken in the meetings was rich and profound. At first I did not understand where the rich Word was coming from and why the church seemed so alive with Christ. But after a while it became apparent that much light from the Bible was coming out of Witness Lee's ministry and was an extension of Watchman Nee's rich ministry. The more I dive into the words spoken by Witness Lee and Watchman Nee, the more I see and grow in the understanding of what the Bible is really talking about and the more I love the Lord and His Word. I now see that God has a purpose in creating man to be filled with Himself and to cause all the believers to grow up into Him until He has a Body to carry out His desire on earth. (Ephesians 4:15-16). He wants to fill His Body, each and every member, until we all express just Him and not our old way of living for ourselves and our desires. Only when this happens in our experience will the Lord have a way to bring in the heavenly kingdom of Christ to this earth and end the damage Satan has inflicted on mankind. I can give my whole life for this purpose which has been revealed in His Word. There is no higher purpose than this. Nothing on earth can be worth more than this. My life can only be satisfied by fulfilling God's purpose and leaving the worldly goals behind. I highly recommend reading anything by Watchman Nee and Witness Lee and the Recovery Version of the Bible. I can testify that I have really grown in the divine life by reading these writings and attending the meetings of the local churches. Gerry Danker | Back to List |
